The Richmond Flooring Installers Who Explain First

We install hardwood, tile, vinyl, laminate and carpet in homes around Richmond, and we talk you through each choice in words that make sense. Before we start, you will know what sits under your old floor, what each option means for your home and how install day will go.

Why we spend so much time explaining

Most people buy a new floor once every ten or twenty years. That means the terms on a sample board, like wear layer, rigid core, porcelain versus ceramic or carpet face weight, are new to almost everyone. We would rather spend a few extra minutes at your kitchen table than watch you pick a floor you don't fully understand.

So when we visit, we look at the rooms you want done and tell you what we see. If the slab dips near the back door, we show you the spot and explain why it matters for long planks. If an old floor needs more prep to come up cleanly, we say so up front. And if a less expensive product suits the way you live, we tell you that too.

Then we lay the options side by side: how each one handles spills, pet claws and humid summers, how long the install takes, and what pushes the cost up or down. You make the call. Our job is to make sure you make it with the full picture.

How we work in your home

  • Straight answers, no pitch

Ask us which floor is best and we will ask how you use the room first. A busy kitchen with a dog needs something different than a quiet guest bedroom, and we will say which products we would skip.

  • We check what's underneath

Most homes here sit on concrete slabs, and slabs can hold moisture or have high and low spots. We test and measure before recommending a floor, because a great plank on a bad base will still click, gap or lift.

  • A written estimate you can follow

Your estimate lists each part of the job in plain terms: removal of the old floor, subfloor prep, the new material, trim and the transitions between rooms. If something changes once the old floor is up, we stop, show you and talk it through before going on.

  • Respect for the house you live in

We protect walkways, keep dust down where we can and clean up at the end of each day. We also talk ahead of time about furniture, pets and which rooms you can use while we work.
